GREATOX joins forces with China Railway Construction Corporation and SENIOR to deliver outstanding performance in real-world port operations.
Recently, the 65-ton port Intelligent Guided Vehicle (IGV), independently developed and manufactured by GREATOX, officially entered service at a breakbulk cargo terminal.
This deployment marks another significant milestone for GREATOX's autonomous port vehicles, demonstrating their successful transition from factory production to increasingly diverse real-world operating environments. More importantly, in on-site performance tests involving vehicles from multiple manufacturers, GREATOX's IGV delivered outstanding results.

Joining Forces with CRCC and SENIOR: Proving Performance Through Real-World Competition
The deployment at the breakbulk terminal was carried out through continued collaboration between GREATOX, China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), and SENIOR, with all three parties working together to advance the practical application of autonomous horizontal transportation solutions in port operations.
Notably, GREATOX was not the only manufacturer operating at the terminal. Multiple port IGVs from different manufacturers were deployed simultaneously within the same operational area, creating an environment for direct, real-world performance comparisons.
From the very first day, GREATOX's vehicle was evaluated alongside competing products under actual operating conditions, where technical capabilities and operational performance were put to the test.
According to the comprehensive on-site evaluation results, GREATOX's IGV demonstrated superior overall performance compared with competing vehicles across four key indicators: braking distance, transportation capacity, turning radius, and autonomous driving command response time.

Lightweight Design: 65-Ton Payload with a Lighter Vehicle Structure
Despite its impressive 65-ton rated payload capacity, GREATOX's port IGV features an optimized lightweight design, with the vehicle's curb weight controlled at approximately 20 tons.
By comparison, port IGVs in the same payload category typically weigh more than 22 tons.
A lighter vehicle structure translates into lower energy consumption, reduced tire wear, and a higher payload-to-vehicle-weight ratio.
In continuous, day-to-day port operations, these advantages contribute directly to lower operating costs and improved transportation efficiency.
Small Turning Radius and Rapid Response: Greater Maneuverability in Confined Port Areas
Space is often limited within port yards and terminal transportation corridors, making vehicle maneuverability a critical factor in overall operational efficiency.
GREATOX's port IGV features a turning radius of less than 9 meters, combined with highly responsive steering performance.
This enables the vehicle to navigate confined operating areas, execute turns smoothly, and maneuver efficiently through narrow terminal passages.
Its rapid steering response and directional adjustments help shorten individual transportation cycles, significantly improving overall transportation capacity and operational productivity.
Multiple Redundant Braking Systems: Safety as the Foundation of Heavy-Duty Transportation
For horizontal transportation applications involving payloads of up to 65 tons, braking safety is a fundamental requirement that cannot be compromised.
GREATOX's port IGV is equipped with multiple redundant braking systems designed to enhance operational safety and reliability.
Even if a single braking circuit fails, the backup braking system is designed to ensure that the vehicle can still come to a safe stop.
This multi-layered safety architecture provides reliable support for continuous 24/7 port operations, where equipment availability and operational safety are essential.
Looking Ahead
The outstanding performance of the IGV jointly deployed by GREATOX, CRCC, and SENIOR at the breakbulk terminal, particularly its advantages over comparable products in real-world testing, further validates GREATOX's technical capabilities in the heavy-duty IGV sector.
This project has also deepened GREATOX's understanding of the practical requirements and operational challenges associated with autonomous horizontal transportation in port environments.
Looking ahead, GREATOX will continue to refine its products and transform the valuable operational experience gained at the breakbulk terminal into continuous technological improvements and product innovation.
By combining advanced vehicle engineering, autonomous driving technology, and real-world operational expertise, GREATOX remains committed to providing reliable heavy-duty horizontal transportation solutions that support the intelligent transformation of ports worldwide.
